All Groves of ADF are expected to perform community service.  GOSH, as part of our efforts to make Lynchburg a way happening place, participates in the Adopt-a-Street program.

Below is one of our signs, supplied by the city.  We are tickled that no one had adopted our chosen street, Thomas Road.
Praise the Gods!
OUR FIRST CLEAN-UP!
Down in a Hole!
photo by Kipp Teague April, 2004
We did this clean-up in conjuction with our Beltaine ritual as part of our offering to the Earth Mother. We collected 7 bags of trash that condensed into 1--we are making progress, much less trash this time!
We found a groundhog skull too--part of the Grove Regalia now!
Before our Lughnassadh ritual and Lughau, we gathered at the sign.  7 volunteers collected 6 bags of trash.  Note our newest Acorn was along for the ride!
Community Service
Our first clean-up, Sunday, March 21, 2004, went exceptionally well!  Some passers-by even stopped to say thank you!  We collected 6 huge bags of trash and even cleaned up what we now affectionately call "The Hole."
